Garden Open Day
Garden Open Day— Saturday, October 6, 2018 10am-2pm
There is no charge and reservations are not required. We ask that you park next door at Cameron Park Elementary School and, for the safety and comfort of others, please leave pets at home. Our nursery will be open with plants propagated from this garden. If you wish to purchase plants, remember we only accept cash or checks. We expect that asters and other perennials will be in bloom as well as cyclamen and early flowering bulbs. We look forward to seeing you.
Spring Events at Montrose, 2018
Workshop on propagation and pruning. April 21, 9:00-12:00
Our workshop on Saturday, April 21 will feature two aspects of gardening, pruning and propagation. We will prune both woody and herbaceous plants, and will demonstrate several different methods of propagation. We will give participants a group of plants to take home and open the nursery after the presentations. Space is limited and we will work in two groups if necessary. The cost is $45 per person and will be refunded in full if we have to cancel because of severe weather; however, we expect to be able to do most of the presentations inside if necessary. To reserve a place, send an email to email@example.com and, when confirmed, mail your check made out to Montrose Foundation to PO Box 957, Hillsborough, NC 27278. Please park at Cameron Park Elementary School.
Garden Open Day, May 12, 10:00-2:00
Garden Open Day will be on Saturday, May 12 from 10:00 until 2:00. We scheduled this event a week earlier than usual because the season seems more advanced than in previous years. We expect that roses and poppies will be in bloom. Our nursery will be open with plants propagated from this garden. If you wish to purchase plants, remember we only accept cash or checks. There is no charge and reservations are not required. We request that you park next door at Cameron Park Elementary School and, for the safety and comfort of others, we ask you to leave your pets at home.
Montrose offers workshops on garden design and propagation as well as open days from time to time. The garden is the basic resource at these sessions. Those interested in being notified of future workshops should sign up for our mailing list, below:
